Name: the one game you type
Every place of your list is red on a map with no names. Select one and type its name. The game shows how close you are, live, in %. At 100 % the place turns green and its name appears.
How to play
- Choose your list: the countries of a continent, the regions of Italy, the counties of Texas, the 100 largest cities of a country, or the capitals and seats of any of them.
- Click a red place. It turns blue and the box opens.
- Type. The percentage climbs as you get closer. No need to press Enter: at 100 % it is done.
- Go on until the whole map is green, or give up to see what you missed.
Places, or their capitals
With a list of places, you type the name of the place. With its capitals or seats, the place itself stays on the map and you type its capital: the departments of France are red, you click the Nord and you type Lille.
What counts as right
Accents, capitals, hyphens and spaces do not count, "St" is read as "Saint", and every language of the site is accepted: Munich and München both turn green.
Where the capitals come from
Wikidata (CC0): the current capital or administrative seat of each place; where Wikidata gives none, OpenStreetMap (ODbL), then GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). See the credits.
