Pin: where is it?
A place is named — Besançon, Kentucky, Lagos, the Ardèche. Click where it is, on a map with no names. The answer lights up, with the distance you missed it by.
How to play
- Read the name in the side panel, with the region or country it belongs to.
- Click on the map where you think it is. Only the borders of the level you play are drawn, in thin lines.
- See the answer: the place in colour, your click, and the distance between them.
Scoring
1,000 points when you click inside the place (or right next to a city). Otherwise, the further away, the fewer points — in proportion to the size of what you play: missing by 100 km costs more among the departments of France than among the countries of the world.
Play anywhere
Pin uses the same sets as Rank: the countries of the world or of a continent, any level of any country (the counties of Texas, the provinces of China, the municipalities of a French department), and cities at four levels. Leave the choice open and it is drawn at random; well-known places come up more often.
